This is very true. With that said, I'll be back to sub-240 FF once I get current. Waiting on the weather to improve before I start jumping again, otherwise I'd already be out there. IMO it's very important to recognize this if you want to freefall low stuff.

what's your lowest FF so far? how many low FF (let's say 240' or below) have you done? how much do you weigh? how tall are you? how athletic are you? do you know how to fall (not PLF)? do you have any gymnastic/tumbling experience? how good are your PLFs? what is the landing area? what is the ground directly below you and in a 30' radius of the exit point (concrete, grass, etc)? what canopy do you have? what container do you have? how much jumps on that configuration? exactly how long does it take YOUR setup to go from pitch to linestretch at a zero airspeed exit? what's the range on that time (+/- how many seconds)?

I'm being completely serious. I've taken all this into account plus a lot of other boring, scientific factors with all my low freefalls. The effects of randomness ("bad luck") are much more severe in these situations, so stacking the deck in your favor is the most important thing.

and not sure if I ever will but I

to temperature, moisture, and
field elevation's affect on air
density and how that c/would
affect the PC and Canopy.

if you use tracking pants and it is windy you may get some more distance from the object. Also a baggy shirt will slow your freefall rate.

is that your normal pc pitch technique for low freefalls?
if yes how often does this kind of tow/delay happen?
was this a one of a kind freak?
how low have you taken it with this pitch style?
whats your canopy time with a normal deployment from that alti?
how long is the bridle?looks a little short.
how big the pc?
how high is the bridge? 190?

Tim, that's a different bridge.

I measured the one in the video at 148 feet, by dropping a tape measure from exit to impact.

It's on the same road as the one you are thinking of, perhaps 10 miles further north.

I'd actually say the video is the fastest opening of a packed rig I've seen to date, and also the lowest handheld freefall I'm aware of.

I only have 5 freefalls off that S...but Ive never had a four second canopy ride. Ive had a 90 left there on a handheld jump, and had time to unstow toggles, turn the canopy 120 degrees and still flare...and that is with my PC S folded into my hand with the bridle.
I think you're mistaking the bridge. I know of 4 people who've ever jumped that one, and the first two did it by accident (thinking that they were at the span you are thinking of, and not realizing they needed to drive a bit further south).

although IT looks the same, the boulder , the cliff to the left etc.

if you look closely wear the opposite side of the object where the suppot is, it flares out more at the bottom of the support. also the boulder on the beach is smaller amongs other things and the POV of the carmera has grass to the left of it where the other object would still be a Bridge, a bridge that's longer than the one being viewed, on the POV SIDE.
The shape of the cliff is different too.

Also i've lasered the other bridge is'nt it 240' , i think this one is in the 135 to 150' range? 48 OR 49 YARDS RINGS A BELL?

but maybe i'm wrong?

SHIT! you beat me to it. yeah most of the time i've viewed tthat one the tides really in as well but sometimez it's not yeah that;s not a pussy bridge for sure

Woops. My mistake. I'm not even close. That's what happens when I post at 12:40 AM.

I know that bridge but was definitely off by one span. I was a bit confused when the opening looked normal but he appeared to be around 100 feet lower than he was supposed to be.
