Hey all – So, I am not a BASE jumper, but my life partner of many years was before he went in back in March 2018 (Eddie Cleveland, BASE 2042). Thus, I became somewhat familiar with exit points, PCAs, static line etc.
I was out in the Sheep Range in Southern Nevada the other day ridgewalking (I’m a caver & a climber). I found 3 cams and a hex that were built into an anchor with some paracord. The paracord is pretty sun-damaged but it doesn't look too old. 2 of 3 cams are badly sprung and in bad shape, and the 3rd isn't something I'd trust - so I cleaned the anchor. It seemed like odd anchor for climbing, but then I noted a very small amount of brake cord and realized I had just cleaned an anchor for an exit point. If this is your stuff, please feel free to DM me and I’ll get it back to you if you want it (the cams are toast but the hex is still good). Sorry about that!
Take care.
