Re: [douggs] Digital logbook for Base jumping.
Considering I write software, I am impressed. Looks very clean.
Considering my current logbook is a 2 foot tall glass jar with rocks of different color where each rock logs a jump, each color documents the type of jump, I have a built in charting and graphing system in place, I just can't sort very efficiently... So I would consider logging if I had even more cool tool to use (but my glass jar will remain the master database.)
My suggestion for the $$$ viability... Make it skydiving friendly too. You open up a huge market of people more willing to spend money to subsidize the BASE jumpers. In all seriousness, I think it could be as simple as numbering skydives "S-1, S-2" and BASE "B-1, "B-2". Maybe a checkbox for "is BASE jump." Lots of the other gear transfers over. The jump mates and ground crew for Balloons, BASE, and skydives are often the same... Wingsuits are used on both... It would be cool to track how many total jumps on a wingsuit, and with heads up displays, being able to track performance on BASE vs Skydives...
